Bought a few plants at the garden center this weekend. They had everything 70% off so it was a pretty good deal. Kids had fun running around looking at all the stuff.

This is one of the beds I built with all the free stone I'd been picking up every now and then. Going to keep this bed simple as I don't want to deal with much maintenance.

Our lucky day has arrived!!! Forecasted rain was 0.28" and we have received 3.60" thus far!!!

Since it's raining, today is the day to knock an item off my bucket list... I'm going to take one of our new pasta attachments for a test drive. Also made the dough for 2 loaves of garlic bread to go with it.

Forecast for today is a cool 55 degrees & 0.41" of rain. We ended up receiving 1.02" , but the temperature never made it to 50.

Started the beginning-of-the-month chores for something to do.

Clean the greenhouse & the oscillating fan, then put up the insulated covers on the vents. Also put the heater in it as tonight is suppose to be a very early freeze for us.

Made bread & Mrs. Ranch made a big pot of chili.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

Moved the porch plants into the greenhouse & turned on the heater.

Trimmed & ground a brisket, then formed into hamburger patties. When they're frozen, we'll vacuum pack them.

Vacuum packed 4 thick sirloins.

Roasted a whole eye-of-round that will be cubed up for Dieter's treats.

Fed the cattle.

Seasoned up a big pot roast for supper.

Replaced all the batteries in the clocks (if they have one) & set them to the new time.

Brought the 12' ladder over from the barn to clean & reverse the ceiling fan in the family room. Also cleaned & reversed the other 6 ceiling fans.

Vacuum packed the the hamburger patties & Dieter's treats from yesterday.

Mrs. Ranch made a peach pie.

Fed & worked the cattle. Six were loaded up & are on their way to their new homes. Finish just in time as rain has started.

Rain is coming down pretty good now, we have received 3.60" thus far. Finally catching some runoff in the tanks.

Made vegetable/beef/barley soup with the remains of the pot roast from the other day. We'll be eating off of this pot for the next 5 days...

Watered the garden ahead of the cold front & winds that will arrive this afternoon.

Fed the cattle & put out mineral blocks for them.

Replace the bird's seed block with a suet block. Then cleaned & refill their water tub.
