Another dreary day, 45 degrees & raining (0.32" thus far)...

Made 2 loaves of bread, 1 Italian & 1 garlic.

Ordered 2 more samples of paint per Mrs. Ranch's request.

Start the restoration of Mrs. Ranch's Jeep headlights. All the progressive sanding is done (400, 800. 1000, 3000, 8000 grit) so tomorrow I will do the 2 stages of polishing before apllying the ceramic finish.

Took my Jeep in for an oil/lube job & to get the yearly inspection. Then went to pick up the license sticker.

Did the weekly shopping.

Finished Mrs. Ranch's headlight restoration & detailed her grill before putting it back on.

Fed the cattle & put out a roll of hay.

Start burning a tree stump out next to the well house.

Made stuffed jalapenos & Mrs. Ranch made more broccoli salad.

Seasoned up a pot of pinto beans for tomorrow.

Made bread.

Made a pot of pinto beans.

Stoked up the tree stump I'm burning out.

Put up the yellow sticky traps in the greenhouse as a precautionary measure to protect my babies.

4 LONG weeks in a row and working on my 5th consecutive 70+ hour 6 day week. I've only missed one or two family dinners though. This is starting to hurt.

Today I had a mistake that was nearly a large failure and it was right infront of the lead mechanical engineer, the lead controls engineer (my boss), the project manager, and the lead rep for the customer.

At least this machine should be nearly perfect before it leaves our shop and the install time in Texas / Mexico will be limited - if I get tapped to go down there.

========

Cleaned up after the dog. Moved some partially melted snow off the walkway. Made the monthly IRA investment buys.

Cold (41 degrees) & windy (20 MPH) here today.

Turned the water off to the irrigation system & drained it as tonight is a hard freeze. Turned the heat lamp on in the well house & put the covers back on the hose bibs. Also turned up the thermostat in the greenhouse. I'm glad I held off planting the potatoes, LOL!!!

Got down to 27 this morning.

Made bread.

Paint more paint samples for Mrs. Ranch... hopefully she'll make up her mind soon.

Fed the cattle.

Stoked up the stump again, now that the winds have laid down.

Stoked up the stump again. This one is a tough one, very dense graining...

Continued prepping the garden.

Received the leek sets today, so I'll need to get them planted ASAP.

Got almost up to 50 here today with sun out.

Showings on three houses today and made an offer on one. Offer pending acceptance / counter / inspection and the whole lot.

I may have a house in time to put in a summer garden here.

=====

Tomorrow I get to drive almost 10 hours (round trip) to have a 15 minute interview with customs and border patrol to get the TSA Global Entry card or addition to my passport.

Went to vote.

@w_r_ranch I'm sure you're one of the Bernie-Bros out there on the vids.

Three counter offers later and one implied threat by our realtor and we have a house contract. Our realtor talking to their realtor on text "By the way they just asked me to set up a showing for tonight at that new Lincoln listing which looks very nice at $xx" and that price is lower than they countered at for a very similar house.

Financing is lined up and a large down payment really helps there.

Just inspections now...

Congrats on the new casa Yan.

Yes, WR is all-in Bernie. We both are as a matter of fact. If you search Twitter hard enough, there's a video of us doing this weird little dance 26 ft from a polling station.

BTW, we both expect a room in your new house.

It has 4/10s of an acre, a garden shed, and a heated 22'x22' shop. For those of you in Texas "heated" is like reverse air conditioning. It allows the building to be comfortably used when its cold outside - cold like 10 deg F not 40 deg F.

Raining pretty good today (0.65" & still coming down) so it's inside cooking today. Mrs. Ranch wants pizza so that's what were having. I made the dough & the sauce.

Puttered in the greenhouse, culling my tomatoes & peppers down to one per pot.

The stump is now small enough for me to slip a burn barrel over it to hold the coals. Stoked it up again.

Watered everything in the greenhouse.

Fed the cattle.
