diy wood chips?

Anyone have a method they would like to share? Pics always a plus ;)

I used a hatchet once but it wasn't pretty and my arm was tired.

lol. I have access to maple, apple and cherry but do I just cut up a live branch? Debark or not? Let it dry for?????

I've got a friend who does a lot of wood working out of logs and such, I usually take his left overs.

I just save the small pieces from when I split logs...

simple as that huh? Are they better the fresher they are? I have buddies who wood work also and we run fire wood in the winter so access is not limited.

No, it has to age (cure)... the kind of wood determines how long it sits, the same as firewood. If you use 'green wood' to cook with, your food will be nasty.
