Sure it's promotional but this is actually got a good cause behind it as well, planting more flowers to help keep bee's alive. Because without them we'd be in a lot of hurt. Cheerios will send you 500 wildflower seeds for free to help save the honeybee.

As with anything on the internet some people hate this program. Apparently they were sending out the same wildflower blend to the whole country. And some of the flowers are considered invasive and listed as such in several states while other flowers in the mix are non-native to North America bla, bla, bla.

If I go by memory of the story forget-me-not is in the mix and is a listed noxious weed in Massachusetts, while something like the California poppy is endangered in it's native range but an invasive plant in the US south east. Again I am going by memory of a story I skimmed a few hours ago.

The article did point out that the main ingredient in Cheerios is oats which are grasses and are wind pollinated not bee pollinated.

Oh well some people will whine about anything.
