Corn Pests

Hello,

I'm a home gardener in GA and something is picking at my corn and biting/breaking it in half. Looks like it is gathering it to almost nest. I have fence around my garden plus silt fence all the way to the ground to help wind control. Here are pictures. Have any idea? How can I stop it? Thanks for your help.

If I was to guess, it is either a rabbit or a squirrel (a fence won't normally stop either of them). You are going to have to sit & watch your garden to identify the culprit, preferably with a .22 (or a pellet gun if you live in a city/town).

If your garden safe now? The creature in the pic does not look like a squirrel. It may be a rabbit. If you want a harmless pest control diversionary crops are a safe alternative to stop rabbits invading your garden area. But if you think the problem is getting worse, it is good to take help from the reputed pest control companies to try other ways to help you keep your garden safe and healthy.

Around here the pest control is via high velocity lead or a trap.

I cleaned out my 13 lined ground squirrel problem with a mix of rat traps and conibear 110s. I'm fixing the chipmunk problem with a modern tombstone style rat trap.
