Cooled back down here 12 F when I left for work. On Tuesday we were in the 50s as a high.

More lettuce just germinated for the hydroponic system.

Finished reading Ready Player One and The Storm Before The Storm. Which has me without a book at the moment, kinda weird.

Did the weekly shopping & bought ranch fuel.

Went to a friend's place to lend a hand.

Applied pruning sealer to the cuts on the Crape Myrtles.

Cleaned the ranch's weather station & replaced the transmitter batteries.

Received another 0.19" of rain last night.

Made pizza dough & sauce to tonight's supper.

Fed the cattle.

Start assembling addition irrigation subsystems for the new 'tree ring' areas.

In keeping with the Mayan theme at the guest house, I hung a 5-panel canvas print of El Castillo (the castle) in Chichen Itza over the couch.

Started snowing around 7 AM. Still snowing now, 9:30 PM, have between 4 and 5 inches on the ground. Roads were a mess when I went grocery getting around noon today.

The Store Before The Storm is about the fall of the Roman republic from about 160 BC to 50 BC.
Ready Player One was just a sci-fi novel as escape.

My mother in-law was a children's area librarian - after she retired from being a lower elementary teacher - and kept my kids in books but my level is a little above that usually.

I'm a podcast junkie and at least twice a week a podcast I listened to points me to another book to read.

Still chilly (53) & damp here, so I made a pot of navy bean soup.

Trimmed & boned out 2 pork shoulders for buckboard bacon, then put them in the curing brine where they will stay for the next 2 weeks. Threw the bones into the soup.

Fed the cattle ahead of the rain.

Made bread.

Picked up the 'Red Pontiac' seed potatoes (they were late this year because of it being so wet) & got them 'chitting'.

Fed the cattle & put out a roll of hay ahead of the incoming cold front.

About 8" of dry fluffy snow over night.

12 F when I went out to shovel at 8:30 a.m. and wind blowing. One kid loved playing in it and the other was whining constantly that he was cold.

Drifting will be a problem when you get out into the farm fields.

41 & sunny here, about the same as yesterday but without the wind.

Prepared 5 more porch pots for springtime.

Researching new weather stations as the original from 2011 is dying & I can no longer get replacement parts.

Up to about 4 F. Too cold to leave the house if we don't have to. Working on my new woodworking tool cabinet and pinewood derby cars.
